I'm new to this site, usually I hang at Hybridz.org as I'm into the 240Z's. But ive taken on a project with my 18 yr old son to swap an SR20 into his 72 PU. The motor and disc brake kit's are on order and we.ve begun pulling things off the 521. I havent seen much detail on this swap but I know its been done.Do any of you have info or can you point me in the right direction for info on this swap? I'm a metal fabricator so mounts and brackets wont be an issue but I'm sure theres little tricks that will make the whole job alot easyer. Thanks

I ordered the front and rear brackets from BEEBANI on this site. But after thinking about it more, I'll be wanting to swap out the stock rearend for something with an LSD and most likely wont be able to use the rears. Any recomendations on rearend swaps?

I'm not much of a Z fan, but that one gave me a pudgy!!!

Fineline had a LSD for sale awhile back...don't know if he still does.  I took apart a hardbody diff and it has the same mounting flanges on the end.  Wrong width, but if you stay with nissan, you may still be able to use the brackets.

I wonder if it was done in Oz where there's clearance. You are going to have a hard time with that 620 one piece steering column.

Well, its going into a 521 and I'm sure there will be fitment issues to deal with. I own a metal fab shop so ability and equipment wont be a problem. I'll document the swap and possibly fab extra motor mounts and brackets  and make a kit for sale. Thanks for the heads up on the steering.

Seems like there was a big void in the truck arena for a long time, now, all of a sudden...guys are doing all kinds of wild swaps!!  Awesome!  I guess they're coming into their own.  Looking forward to more pics :)

Hey Roost where did you get your SR from? where ever you got it from looks like they do a very good job pulling the motor and capping everything off, never seen anyone do it that clean before. even came with the driveshaft and motor mounts. How much did it cost?

Good eyes Mad, this package was extremely clean and professionally removed from the donor car. Nothing was cut and all the important openings were capped. I got it from a member of Hybridz.org. He goes by " Racer98 " , you can contact him in the group buys forum ( I think). He's more like a broker, you tell him what you want and his contacts in Japan get it, test it ,repace belts, hoses and ship it to him ( in CA ) for his personal inspection before shipping it to you. This proccess took 5 weeks from order to delivery. He's a great guy to do business with, he did everything he said he would and delivered a top quality engine, trans, ecu, harness, drive shaft and downpipe. My cost including shipping was $2600.00. He quoted me a redtop and delivered a blacktop for the same quoted price. I know you can get them cheaper but it can be a crapshoot. I would buy another motor from him in a heartbeat.
