Looks like I finally got the ball rolling. There for awhile I was thinking I was going to end up doing nothing with my $100 '76 KC. That changed when I went to the u-pull it looking for a motor to replace the one in a Celica I recently picked up.
I know have a beat up KA24E out of an '89 240SX. I also picked up a 5spd out of an '83 280ZX.
Prices
KA24E: $175
Tranny: $80
Pickin's are slim but I got what I could. I still need the following parts and am actively looking on the forums and what not trying to piece my project together.... 240SX 5spd tranny, ECU, dist, ignitor, AC, rebuild parts, turbo goodies, D21 oil pan and pickup tube + mounts, etc.
Machine work + Motor parts: ~$1500
Clutch setup: ~$300
Brakes: ~$500
Interior: $~600
Wheels/Tires: $1000
Paint: $200
Misc: $500
Total: ~$5000, but having a super rare, fun, reliable truck that my pops and I build from the ground up: Priceless.
![]() Questions so far:
What clutch setup should I use? the KA clutch and flywheel or the 280Z stuff? I can never seem to get tranny stuff through my head.

Ok I scored a deal on most of the parts I need from nicoclub.com, well everything minus the throttle body and AC stuff.
5spd ECU
Engine Harness (says the plug where it plugs into the dash is missing, is that a big deal??)
distributor
Ignitor
coil
MAS
tubing
New oil pump
New timing kit
He want's $225 plus shipping....is it worth it? I got another guy that is wanting $300 for that stuff. Then there are misc guys wanting $30/$40 for misc parts.
Update: He dropped the price to $200 shipped

offer him 150 shipped...they don't really want to hold on to that stuff anyways... I almost bought a complete ka with trans and everything for only 200 but then my trans went out on my truck so I couldn'y haul it home from Everett

Yeah I figured that stuff was trash to them. I'm gonna hold out for a bit and see if he might drop down in price some more.

Ok, so I got to thinking again and running over what I still needed. I am sure I am going to need the 240SX fuse/relay box right?

Cool man you've got it started. Hit me up on RSW if you ever need any help with the swap, I'd definently love to help. I may be picking up the boosted 620 that's on there already.

Will do, I am just trying to aquire the right parts now. That would be sweet if you picked that truck up!
Can anyone give me some help on the tranny issue and whether or not I need the fuse boxes and relays? I don't want to buy anything I don't need.
