bullet Topic: 71 V8 project for sale

I am regretfully putting my project up for sale.  It is a 1971 521 with a 1965 Ford 289 ci engine and C4 automatic transmission.  It has a Ford 9 inch limited slip rear end with 3.00 gears, sized to fit and completely rebuilt.  It has Ford disc brakes on the front with the spindles dropped 1 inch.  The body is off the frame and all of the running gear is in place including the driveshaft.  I have new 16x8 Crager wheels for the back and new 16x7 Crager wheels for the front.  No tires yet.  The body is sandblasted and has no rust with only minor body work needed.  I have all of the Datsun parts plus Ford parts to go with the project.  All of the fabrication has been professionally done.  I would like to sell this as a complete project if possible.  I have put a lot of work into this and would like to see it get finished.  I would like to get $2500.00 for it.  That may sound like a lot, but most of the hard and costly work is done.  I will get pictures soon if anyone is interested.  You can call me at 541-419-6196

I live in Bend Oregon and would consider delivering within 200 miles for a fee.

Ken

Alas, I cannot a-ford this project, but think the price is very reasonable. Owned a '71 back in '78, and lived with her for about 5 years. We seperated and went our ways. Know how you feel though, still think of her now and then.

Hi Ken,
Hope you don't mind, I resized some of the pics and I'm going to post them here. Figured that was the least I could do since I haven't sent them to you yet. I can still send you the full size ones too.

I've seen this project personally and the welding that has been done is extemely nice. This is not a hack job by any stretch of the imagination. Ken and I didn't talk price when I was there....I would have guessed it much higher.

Anyway...here's some pics.

Nice pics there Mike!

I'm suprised that Hainz hasn't said something about this project...

It looks like there has been some serious work done on this...too bad to see it go before it's done...

That I may there Hainz...that I may....

too bad it looks like this one is heading to the scrapper...

as far as Jovial...he has posted on DQ on April 5th this:

Need L20b timing chain, distributor -- I need an L20b timing chain and distributor, and have a few things for trade, or I can just buy those things outright if I can't find them in the local junkyard first.
I have:
L18 block (no head), probably needs new rings Z22 EFI head and all EFI bits associated with it. Z22 carbed engine out of 720 pickup
.

So it looks like he's still looking for parts for now...

is that what you meant in another posting that you were making space for the next 521 to come home??

If anyone is interested in this project and would like to make a reasonable offer lets talk.  This will not go to the scrap yard by me I have too much time into it to do that.
