how hard is this gasket to replace? i have a huge leak in my intake side of the gasket. could this be killing my gas milage? does anybody have any tips/tricks for replacing this gasket, it looks like a real headache! thanks

ya, a vaccume and boost leak will kill your performance and gas milage. The most trouble is disconnecting the fuel rail lines that go around the front of the engine. Then undo the intake hose. Unbolt the intake manifold. You can set it to the side on the fender without disconnecting any of the fuel injection wires. Unbolt the turbo manifold and replace the gasket. Put everything back. You might want to buy a new manifold to turbo gasket as well. Honest Performance carries it, as well as other turbo shops online. About $6-8. The gasket on the side that connects to the downpipe is NLA! |
