god dammit. something look a little wrong here?

I have a feeling that I'll need a new roadster clutch plate, and a 280zx tranny to remedy this. I already have a new slave, slave hose, t/o bearing and fluids, what's a little more, right?

New PPlate for sure. I'd like a better/in focus pic of that, one that shows the angle of the diaphragm's fingers, and a pic of the TO brg's contact surface, if convenient. I have a suspicion.

nah, the bearing flat out froze up. The fingers have actually curved inwards, some of them broke off.

My vote is you drop in a 12v ka with a new clutch, mate that up to a new z tranny, or just get a new p\p. You saw what happened when my clutch went out, I turn everything into a project.

Holy carp. Usually the T/O bearing makes an ungodly racket before that happens.

When Ryan gets the latest put back together we should have a pool as to what part breaks next...

Oh, it did. Didn't you hear every shift he made on Saturday? I know I did, 50 yards back.

That's gear grinding. I mean the high-pitch scream of a failing T/O (sometimes they sound like a gravel truck at low speed). I did plenty of the gear grinding myself when my '76 KC pressure plate locked up last week. I'm getting pretty good at driving a Datsun with a non-releaseable clutch (second one in 6 months, though the other was the slave failing).

This wouldn't have happened if you had a JDM oil filter mount...

I had the T/O Bearing on my stealth do the same thing!!! It was a real pain to drive without the use of a clutch for 2 days, it has cables to the tranny so the stick has a real mushy feeling! When I took it all apart the bearing outer race was welded to the inner race, and the preassure plate was about 3/4 wore through the fingers.
