bullet Topic: fourdoor dually project

Well You guys have seen the "delivery" photo before of My fourdoor coming to Arizona in front of Mt. Shasta but here is about what I plan to do with it. Ted was nice enough to sell me these dually fenders that were made and sold years ago by California Stepside. They are miniturized Chevy fenders built specifically for the Datsun bedsides. Also in the deal was a set of dually rims, which I have had powdercoated silver. This is a mockup photo that i took of two different trucks in the same location. The dually will now be longer as I purchased a longbed which is 14" longer. The longbed's frame rear section has been severed and the front frame is a severed 1979 with disc front brakes. These two frames will be welded together to the proper length that the fourdoor cab can just be set on and it's original frame and bed placed into storage. Eventually I would like to bag this lengthened frame and the dually will set rail or be very low. No modifications will be done to the cab. If I ever want to put it back stock all I would have to do is lift off the cab and set it on the stored fourdoor factory frame with bed. I am at this point ready to have the welding done but the certified welder that I've lined up has had family health issues. Hopefully before it starts warming up here it will be a rolling vehicle ready for the detailing. So there is what I'll be working on after Choptana is finished.

Now that is one big Datsun truck!

Nice project, and I'm glad you're keeping the cab and original frame in tact.

Hi Bleach!!!

Yes!! It sure was cool to have somebody nice tell Me about this find!! Maybe, just maybe this year it will be a running "phantom" truck!!

Did You get any photos of it that day up there? Also, in the family sedan topic in the truck section, can You re-post that 720 lowered fourdoor that You had at one time? Thanks!!

That's so cool...maybe you could get another set of permacasts for this one and have fatty rear tires that tuck into those huge fenders.

'Phantom' all the way....

Sweet! Those dually extensions would make a good basis for a bed to fit a 320...hmm...another idea or was that another project ?
