I see a line of 620's, I want to paint them black...

Before:

After:

Painted the grille and tailight housings gloss black...

Not the prettiest paintjob but at least it's all one color (although most people seemed to think it was black before) and I can get started on some body work

It will look good once painted(professionally)

They say not to use spay can primer due to the chemicals in the can
Best just to wet sand the old paint
This is what I was told.

Thats a nice straight truck by the photo

That looks real good all the same color black. What kind of body mods do you have planned ???

I still like those wheels a lot. What year is your black truck? How much clearance do you have between the back lip of the wheel and the leaf spring??

photo's are great aren't they, and no primer there...I got enough rust to kill

It's a 1977, she was somebody's bondo queen before I got her...

First on the list is fixin the dings and whatnot, then smoothing the seams, shavin the hooks, rolling the rest of the bed and tailgate, shaving the tailgate latches...and so on and so forth, should take forever and that doesn't include fixin the flintstone passenger floor (prolly should do that first, lol).

All so I can turn around and do the deluxe next...
at least theres no bondo or rust to speak of on that one

I can take some pic's and measurements of the clearance on the springs in the daytime.

Ok here's a couple more pic's cause I'm an attention whore

Man, those wheels REALLY alter the appearance of your 620.  I'm diggin it.  No clearance issues?  Can't wait to see this puppy in person.  :)

Looking good. Just to clarify, did you use rattle can paint or primer? Rattle can primer can be painted over but wont keep out moisture for very long, so if its used over bare metal it will rust through after awhile. Now, rattle can paint is what you dont want to paint over. In any case it looks good all 1 color & i love the Titan rims on the 620's!

On the rattle can subject, let the cans sit it HOT water (tap hot, not boiling hot) for about 10 minutes before you paint, this causes the pressure to build in the can and paint to atomize better. It goes on alot smoother.

I see a line of cars I want them painted black, no colors anymore i want them to turn black.

That's just dirty steve. I like it. I bet that would look great with that canopy though.

It's rattle can paint, I've seen many a primer project rot away. I plan to primer the truck before I paint it. This is just so it's one color and I can straighten a peice out at a time and just throw some flat black over where I've worked and it will still be the same color.

Daily drivers make bodywork fun

I usually heat the cans one way or another before spraying. Definitley helps it come out cleaner and stick better.

The canopy will stay on the new truck I think...cause that will become the DD shortly.

I've actually been debating picking up another set of rims for the red truck just so I can keep these on this one
