found out the hard way. If you have a NapZ 22 "E" and try to go .80 over you may find out most suppliers dont carry or discontinued there .80 over pistons. an easy way to make things work is getting KA 24 or napZ 24 pistons and milling them down 1 to 2mm depending on what kind of compression you want. I milled it to deck hight so it was around 2mm. As you can see from the pic there is still a fair amount of distance from the top ring to the to of the piston. I just drove it on a four hour trip each way and it still seems to be running fine.

milled down KA 24 pistons in block

engine in the car along with some 44 mikunis, next will be some shocks. any suggestions on suspention for a wagon?

It has three inch lowering blocks in the back and cut stock springs in the front. Its not too low, I can drive straight over a speed bump with a car full of groceries.

Yeah, four and a Z22 short block not so good. The drive tends to rub in the tunnel. anyone ever use those wedge lowering blocks on there car or truck?

I have a set of those 3 inch Belltech with the angle. Mine are not installed yet. I'm still running 2 inch blocks in my truck.

I got mine from an auto parts store right off the shelf.

Big Wheel Auto, GI Joes, Shucks/Kragen might even have them. Auto Zone does. Any custom shop for trucks would of course. Online you can get them from JC Whitney, used you can buy them from nissanminis.com if someone has any for sale.

I'll be getting rid of the 2 inches. I'll let you know. Still need to get my Z on the road, then a new exhust on the truck, then I can lower it more.

Put an L20B in it and the exhaust wouldn't hang so low in front. That's why the exhaust hangs so low in my '76 KC, anyways.

(OK, it's ONLY 20mm, which is a little more than 3/4")

ya, that's the problem. Its the stock L20b exhaust on an L18.

but I think I'm going to leave well enough alone right now. Its my last running vehicle!

Oh ya, the problem with that one is it tops out at 6mph. Not quite fast enough for Military Rd.

My budys wagon is the same way every time you hit a bump or exelerate fast it sounds like a jack hammer. He's running a 3" block with a 1" block on top off it. He might of took a leaf out to I forget.

He should check (if the 510 has one) the carrier bearing. Maybe its time to shorten the driveshaft.

510s don't have carrier bearings. It was a truck-only thing.

when I was changing the shocks i noticed they where only two inch blocks and its riding on the snuber. When I auto-x it some guy asked how it handled as well as it did I told him it was on the bump stops.
