A 7 hour drive to the CA/AZ border, and this is what I came back with:

I've got my year project in front of me.
One's a turbo (no turbo) ones normal, which I plan on boring out to 2.1 and running n/a, then maybe down the line do an fi set up.

No, I bought his only 2. It seems like Mesa AZ is a hotbed for these, I had 2 leads there, one I missed by a week, a complete FJ20E with transmission, 15,000 miles $500!!!! I was pissed, but at least this way I can build it up the way I want it.

Are parts hard to find or very expensive for these engines?  How difficult is it to put one of these in a 510/710 compared to a KA engine?

Being a JDM they are moderately hard to find parts for, I think I'm going to end up ordering sidedreaft intake and headers (and maybe a few other odds and ends) from Australia. A concern of mine right now, is that I thought the 6 bolt(?) 225 mm flywheel would work, and these blocks have holes for 8, and might be 220. So I dunno. There might be another compatable, I have to find out for sure. But I have plenty to do before I start worrying about assembly problems.
As far as I know, reverse the crossmember, and they drop right in.

from what i know, don't quote me or anything but i wouldn't bother saying it if i wasn't some what sure, anyways one of the fj's i was looking at the motor mount's looked exactly like s-12 200sx motor mount's witch makes sence. 200 being a silvia in japan aka the fj so not quite as easy as the ka motor mount wise, but they are way sexyer i also read that the rb tranny bolts on but the fly wheel who konw's when you find out you have to let me know. the fj is my favorite nissan engine, i wont one

I'll look into that motor mount situation, I have a really good contact who has built many of these and put them in 510's (Adam Corolla' for one),he'll be able to set me straigth on this and other questions...
What's the RB tranny from(what models)? The Z 5 spd I have will bolt up, it would just be tilted at a slight angle.

Cool, thanks, I will also be waiting to know if they will be fairly easy to swap in and what needs to be done.  If I ever get the chance and have the money I may forego the K engine idea.  Will a CA20 engine be similar to this one also?

As far as I know, what makes these motors so special and desireable over the SR's and CA's etc, is not necessarily there stock power, which is good, but there potential to make really big power with stock internals (450hp easy, some of the guys on FJ20.COM make 1000hp, tho I thingk some of the internals have been swapped out in these cases). They are bullet proof with big journals, durable crank, and really tough short rods.
I might get to start taking it apart tonite, I'll post pics of my process.

i don't know witch rb tranny it is just ran across it on a web page/ magizine artical you know those magizine's that post there artical's on the web.it was a built fj with like 350whp and they used the rb tranny instedd of the fj for some reason, i just figured it was stronger. i don't know if it would work but it would be cool to use the fj all wheel drive tranny and the fj engine to make an all wheel drive 510. it's one of my dreams, i wouldn't feel bad cutting up a semi rusted 510. living in washington i get pissed racing wrx's dam them and there all wheel drive. i think that that's the only way you could get a all wheel drive 510 using nissan parts, and be able to work on it. the transversally sr in my mind would never work, well at least not as easy. maybe some day i'll buy a house with a garage and build one actualy that's the only reason i would ever buy a house/double wide with a shop my real dream. hehe
