Here it is! Now that I know how easy it is to put pics up on here, I will keep you guys updated.

The motor just came off of the frame today!!  Hope to have the frame fabbed and painted before the rains set in!  2 months to go.

Here's some new pics.

Man, that thing went out with a fight!!  I have to rework the front end a little bit because the bag is slightly rubbing the "dog bone".

What are you going to use to replace the frame stiffening that you've hacked out? Removing all those welded crossmembers is gonna make that frame twist like a pretzel.

thats the point isn't it. boy i sure hope you have another steering column and box to use. putting those gears back together so they work correctly can be a real pain.

Yes, I'm going to make new cross members.  Not to be snooty, but I'm not a moron!  Those cross members were hitting the ground before the frame was, no good!  I wont be replacing the torsion bar cross member because the tranny cross is right in front of it.  No I don't have another steering column, there was no other way to get that mutha out of the cab, and I don't plan on removing the pitman arm or any of the other linkage components.  I think putting the gears back together wont be that bad!?!

layinga521:  I have everything!  I have a couple of guys from this site that want things, but haven't picked them up yet.  It's going to the crusher pretty soon, so everyone better get on the stick if they want anything!!

pac. coast 521:  how's it goin Mark?  I tried callin' you quite a few times about buyin' the 521, no hard feelings though.  Was going to tell you, they have a bunch of stuff on e-bay lately for 320's.  I don't know what brand the rear bags are, my dad had them laying around for some project that they didn't work for.  The front bags are from AIM, they're 2500 lb. "airbagit.com" bags.

Yeah, so apparently these 2 boys aren't going to reply to me!?!  Anyway, new update:  got one side of the front end reworked, had to cut a big notch in the frame to make the bag fit (pics later).  Now the frame hits the ground in the front like I want, and I'm happier than a puppy with 3 peters!

Beebani, I appreciate you offereing the 521 at such a good price but as usual some extra bills came up & i had to hold off on getting it from you. Your 620 is looking very nice BTW. And, what kinda stuff have u seen for the 320's on e bay? I need the window squeeges & the weatherstriping.

B, sorry man for not getting back to you. Been busy lately. Like Mark though I have more bills than cash at the moment. If I was able to get ahold of you when I was at the run up there I had a backer to drop cash for your frame. I was bummed the whole way home. Anywho, 620 is looking good, keep it up man, L8R!

PacCoast

Hey, if you are looking for door weather stripping, I took some used Ford Ranger weatherstripping that was in decent shape and it fit just great on my NL320 with only 2 cuts. You would have to cut more off the end as the L doors are 6" shorter than the NL doors. As for the wing windows, got to a Mazda Parts counter, and see if they can find you some 1984 Mazda B2000 wing-window rubber. I got a pair 2 years ago, and they were getting scarce then, but one of the guys at the classicdatsunpickups@yahoogroups.com found that they are nearly a perfect fit. And there are at least two guys that have them already installed and real happy with them. Lots of 320/520 tech stuff at the classic group.

Talk to you later,

Garry K

Don't worry 71-521, I wont!  But I would like to get it outta there by the end of this month if possible.  Hey Layinga521, do you still want that floor pan over the shifter?

Thanks for the support guys!  Hopefully I'll have this thing driving before Canby next year.

NEW PICS!!!

Got the front end done, as of this post the rear is done also!  Will try to get pics of the rear today and post them up.  Enjoy!

NO CLEARANCE PROBLEMS WITH BAGS ANYMORE!!!  The tranny cross just barely sits on the ground, which is plenty low enough considering that the oil pan is only going to be 2" off the ground!
