I built up another L20 for a temp motor in my green machine cause i was having problems with my L16.

Nothing fancy but it will do the trick

OK, Looks great,

But I need some advice for the L20B going into my dads 78 510 wagon... I have the L20 B coming out of his wagon (200,000+)(original owner), I have a 1980 720 L20B with weber carb, was running, but condition really unknown..., And a L-18 that is supposed to be a recent rebuild with possible cam... has the "good head" . What are my options? My dad is thinking re-ring and bearing the bottom end on his L20, have the head and cam checked out on the L-18, and install it all together and use the weber carb. We are pulling all the smog and AC stuff off the wagon for easier maintenance. Thanks, Garry K

Depends on the head on the L18. You don't really want to run a closed-chamber head on a L20B on a daily driver. Means running premium all the time.

Me, I'd install the L18 and rebuild the L20B the right way, all the way. Though you'll need to add a new dipstick hole since the L18 likely uses the rear or mid sump and the '78 510 used a front sump.

The 720 L20B will have the same issues, plus have a few other gotchas. The 1980 L20B is a Z20S casting which isn't a bad thing but has extra motor mount holes etc.

I was told they are hooker headers but i really don't know, not sure hooker ever even made headers for the datsuns and i'm not to sure these will fit in my 620 with out removing the torsion bars.

I like the interior choice of upholstery, very clean and classic.

also, "squirt", does that refer to oh, say, maybe, nos?

the K&N beside the master is for the a/c compressor n the nos sticker was just sittin in my tool box at work so i used it to cover the gm sticker(been removed now-changed compressors now it just has a msd sticker on it).
