bullet Topic: rear disk brakes
    Posted: 14 January 2005 at 9:44am

Hello again,

I wanted to convert the rear the disk brakes and wanted to know if you guy had any info?  Is this a common conversion? I have searched the forum and did not really find anything that would help me. Can I put another make (Nissan Toyota) of rear axle that has disk brakes already on the truck? if so what axles fit the 620??

Thank you for your time

Drew

As for width, only the 620 and 720 trucks are the same axel size. The trucks didn't have rear discs untill the full size Titan. (unless maybe some 4x4 Frontiers have them)

Anyway, you'll need to swap discs onto your truck. There is no easy axel swap.

This page gives you some ideas on what you can do. You'll end up with a rear rotor that is quite a bit larger diameter than the front if you do this.

actually bleach, some of the pathfinders in the hard body, had disc brakes. but they didn't use leaf springs for the suspension. they had a 4 link with coils. isuzu had disc brakes on the 89 and up rodeos, trooper 2, honda passports and some amigos. they used the conventional leaf spring in the rear. and are almost the same width. might have to relocate the spring pearches.

yeah but finding one of those lincolns isn't always easy. i know of where there is 2 of them but... they also are a 5 bolt pattern tyoo so using a 6 bolt front wheel and a 5 bolt rear wheel would look funky. these other sources are a little more plentiful. oh and as i went to a wrecking yard yesterday i found that some of the isuzu trucks had a rear disc axle also.

As for the path finders and the other 6 lugs you spoke of

any idea how CLOSE they are to being the same measurement ?

with a 4 link on mine the perch tabs are open to change

but the gearing might be better too for the highwayy>?

thanks
