getting ready to get her running again. Stock carb on it is shot. Trying to figure out the best set up. If i get a single down draft carb (weber 32/36?) will it work on stock manifold? then in the future will i be able to use that same carb in a dual carb set up? Also, is the manifold the same on all L series motors? My old 510 had a SSS L18 with dual mikuni side drafts set up on it, will dual down draft carbs fit under the hood? thanks for your help |

It needs an adaptor, which is available as part of the standard Datsun Weber 32/36 kit. Originally posted by jon morse

Also, is the manifold the same on all L series motors? No. There are at least 4 different stock 4-cyl downdraft type as well as SU sidedraft type and the EFI type. The downdraft ones were the '67-73 L16, the '74 L18 (added EGR), the '75-77 L20B (heat riser type, non-water heated) and the '77-80 L20B (water heated type, large EGR port) Then there are aftermarket Edelbrock and Offenhauser manis. Both are NLA but they appear on eBay. The edelbrock I saw was for a 4bbl conversion, the offy was a dual-plane set up to use a weber directly. Probably more. There were aftermarket sidedraft manis (single, dual, maybe more). Originally posted by jon morse
