I have a stock 3:9 available, but if you are doing it , wait for the LSD. The 3:9 180's are rare, you'll probably end up with a 160 3:7, but no harm in asking.

i need somethin that can put up with a turbo and a very heavy right foot, whenever i have a car i have fun with it, i took it drifting last week so that probably contributed alot to this diff going out, but i've heard a slight rub for almost two week's which is kind of annoying since i've only had it about 3, anyway if anyone has a LSD, preferably something that can take the kind of abuse im probably gonna put it through, please let me know

You're probably just spinning one wheel and burning up the spider gear. That's what usually happens. Your 160hp engine shouldn't be able to blow gears out.

LSD probably will save your rearend. Get the R200 3.7 LSD and convert it to a 3.9

you'd probably find a 3:7 sluggish after having the 4:11, though if you do some freeway driving you won't wind out and you'll save some gas...but that's not why we build these cars is it. As far as the 240 goes, isn't that the r200? I'm not sure. But I doubt it's lsd either.

i have no clue what the r200 is in... to be quite honest all i know about the diff's is that they suck to change, and what one's out of a subaru will fit (thank's to the dime quarterly) but if it's not LSD then it's not an option for me...

R200 come out of the 280z and the 810s and later 200sx.

The Subaru R160 are avail for around 150$ most are 3.7
A 3.9 would be rare if avail.

The Z car diffs are are a bad ratio like 3.5 even 3.7 is not a good burn out ratio.

Anyway the R180s out of the 260z use a different haftshaft set up so I dont reccommend using it.No 4 bolt flange.

The 240z will fit but bad gear ratio again stock.

The subaru one are the early style with the torx nut on the half shaft. Remove the torx bolt and install the 510 one. The later Subarus are like the R180 and the halfshaft set up is different.

The R200 does take some doing to install(best to get better gear ratio.

Ya, you could install that one. Hopefully the LSD saves you because those 160mm gears sure won't.

The 240Z sounds nice!!!!

I'm thinking the R160. The "R-series" is the only one that is a bolt-in or close to a bolt-in. The 240SX one looks simular but will require some fab work.

i was thinking of the one in the link cause it's maybe an hour drive from my house so i wouldnt have to have it shipped, but it just look's way too short to be able to hook up correctly... and i've never seen a 240 one so i dont really know about those, and i cant find anything near me that fit's, man i hate havein a 30+ year old car with hard to find part's, lol, she's still my baby tho

Parts are not hard to find.
Just got o get them when they do come up for sale when you dont need it

Dave Carrol had stacks of stock R160s but nobody wanted them. They all went to the dump!

The LSD are the ones to get but a stock 510 or erlier Subaru ones are cheap to get(the non LSD)w/torq bolt haltshaft set up.

The 240sx might have a R200 in there also or a R230.
