Does anybody here have a good source of information on retro-fitting an R200 rear end in a 510? Which car would be the best to look at in a wrecking yard for a nice LSD, 300zx?

Go to ratdat.com in the tech section has a R200 install

remember mosr R200 are not the gear rationyou want so ck first. I think the 300zx has better ratios like you said.

You really have a High powered 510?

Maybe just get a Subaru R160 the early yr ones

go to the Dime quarterly in the tech section gives info on LSD options.

The 300ZX turbo LSD is a 3.7 ratio, and Hainz has that ratio in his 510. You probably want a 3.9 or 4.11 ratio but they don't come stock in LSD. If you've got a 4-cyl you don't need the limited slip. Just get a 4.11 R180 open diff

Thank you for the link! My 510 is not very powerful at the moment (L20) but I'm in the process of collecting parts for a restore and an SR swap. Mostly I've been buying rubber and whatnot thus far but I need a clear idea of where to go from here for the SR. I feel the R200 might be a good move. Actually, that's another good question...

Ahh, thanks for the info, 3.7 will do just fine I think. I'm planning on making a fast car but it's also going to be for street. :)

Yeah, but I'm not typically that sort of person; when I get something stuck in my head it's happening. Plus I seem to have a thing with spending way more money on a car than what it's worth. I have a BMW e30 for example that I major body work done on. Actually, its front half is an '87 and the back half is a '90. Haha!

I believe I already have over $1000 in body panels, rubber, and lights for my 510. ;o)

The 1989-91 bumpers look way better. Put that on the front of your BMW 325.

Yeah, you're correct! I have the later style rear bumper but the front ones theoretically won't line up correctly. I might get the BMP after market front bumper that converts the early models to look more like the later style. It will cost around $400 though and I'm currently tied up on my Datsun project. :)

That's a good inquiry. What does the rear end of a 620 look like?

There was a rare (probably NLA) Nismo H190 LSD. Was sold for 4X4 720s. Unfortunately the H190 was a nissan-only diff. Probably easier to find and swap out an extire axle assy from a newer (90s) truck that has it or has a cheaper aftermarket setup available.
