I've been working on replacing some upper front cover bolts and the water pump on my truck. I got the front cover off and all that stuff and just about ready to put back together when the transmission in my 280ZX finally bites the dust... or turns to dust. Something like that. In a mad rush today I threw everything back together on the 620. It'll be on the road probably tomorrow. Oh, and I just upgraded to Windows 2000 and my Kodak DC20 (1996) camera doesn't have drivers for Win2000. BUT, I now have a garage computer just about ready to play MP3s during my projects and that's Windows 98, so I"ll have to get that thing hooked up with my camera and on the internet. How fun. (or buy a newer camera) While I had things apart I changed many of the bolts to stainless and changed the setup for my fuel line to hopefully avoid vaporlock this summer. AND, i now have my blue NGK spark plug wires installed on my Bluestreak cap. Lots of blue! Engine before teardown During teardown After reassembly My buddy, the fan clutch... |

Also, I got the front main pulley from a '74 truck installed. Single grove pulley good for 1 extra horsepower at high rpm, right? So everything's back together and the truck is taking me to work just fine. I do have those pictures on my computer at home. I'll post them soon, I hope. |

Oil leak seems to be fixed now. I installed my rebuilt 280ZX master cylinder in the 620. After bench bleeding the cylinder and bleeding the brakes once again the braking repsonse has improved greatly! Never use a master cylinder from a 4-wheel drum brake setup on a truck with disc brakes in front. Those work but not nearly as well. I'm very happy with my brakes now. They still could be better (larger front calipers), but right now they brake more solid than they ever have since I've owned this truck. |
