Check out the pics at the site below.  You guys can tell which pics are the 510.  I posted a list of mods below, email me at hickerd@firemtn.com to let me know if there is anything that you want and what you would be willing to pay for it.

1971 Datsun 510
L18 (1.8L) bored and stroked to 2186cc (2.2L)
Isky cam
9.5:1 Flattop pistons
Machined and polished rods
Knife-edged crank
Port and Polished head
Port and Polished manifold
Large diameter valves
Nissan Comp. 4-2-1 header
2 1/4" exhaust with Supertrapp muffler
Nissan Comp clutch
Weber carb, could use a rebuild kit, but runs
Comes with dual sidedraft manifold, and 1 sidedraft carb.
1979 280zx 5 speed tranny

Molded front fender flares
Body is really straight, just need paint

Lexan tinted rear windows.

Chrome moly 4 point roll cage. Welded to rear strut tower with floor bar in between, really stiff chassis, handles AWESOME!

Bucket seats. Seats are in good shape, as is dash, headliner and door panels.

280z 10" cross drilled, slotted front disk brakes
300z Aluminum drum brakes on rear

Tockico Illumina shocks on back, Koni 5 way adjustables on front with ground control coilover sleeves and Eibach springs. Hybrid setup but works great. Has Camber plates as well.

Suspension Techniques swaybars front and rear.

Car needs a little body work on the back, but not too bad.

Thanks

Daniel

Whats that red light on the roll bar for? Your dome light. The Red Light District/pimp theme.

My EX red/wht /blu 510 is for sale for 3K$ again. I sold it for 4K$. and the paint was awsome.

Not to hurt anyones feelings that is a 800$ car(the roll bar and sidedrafts adding most of the value). Maybe lucky to get 1000.
Sell it in pieces you might get more.

interior look good!

Not gonna get $2K without at least making it look half decent. When it comes to cars, presentation is most the battle. It could have $3K in engine work but looking like that, I've hauled cars out of folk's weeds that looked better than that for free.

I agree with Hainz- the interior looks good though without seeing the dash it's hard to tell. But the rust-colored primer, the off-color trunklid, the signs of rust around the doors, the chewed-up pass. side flare, and the half-flat tires simply drives the price down. It looks like one of MY cars on the outside.

But, once again, I hear Hainz in the background.... "Baby forces sale...."

I think that now moves up to #25 on my "Top 100 Reasons Not to get Married" list.

The pics aren't that good.  There is absolutely no rust on the car, and the front fender isn't messed up, it just looks that way in the pic.  The car has lots of stuff done to it.  It has more than 2K in the motor.  Check out my homepage, it has a pretty good list of whats been done to the car.

It was originally emerald green.  Then it was sanded and primed and was about to be painted the same candy apple red that is inside. That was a while ago, the guy I bought the car from never finished the paint job.  It is IRS.

It has a pumped L18 with a 280Z 5 speed tranny.  You can see the mods on my homepage.  If you are interested, I can email you some more pics of the interior and the motor and stuff.  It has adjustable coilovers on the front, it can be lowered more than it is in the back, but the tires rub. I have longer wheels studs so I can run wheel spacers, but haven't installed the wheels studs yet.  The wheels are black powdercoated under that gold paint, and Look pretty good. I have seen some older pics of the car when it was green with the black wheels.  Car has lots of potential and there is more there than meets the eye.

BTW: It has 69 side marker lights in the rear, the front side marker lights were shaved and filled, and it has a 69 grille.  But it is a 71

You would most likely do better to part the car out. It sounds like you have some done some nice work to the car but it is difficult to get any money for a car like that. You are far more likely to have someone come up with around 1K for the motor and carbs (if they are really nice) than have someone pay 2K for the whole car. Then you can sell the rest and be ahead of your current target.

but then again, you never know, you might find that one guy who wants a primer'd project car and has 2K burning a hole in his pocket

Re-primer the whole car so its one smooth color (since there's no rust or body damage) and then get some glamour shots in someone's nice garage with a good digital camera. That'll help a lot!

oh and clean the mud off the tires.if you clean the mud off it'll make it look ten times better. also if you get the car wet before pictures. that helps in hance the color.

Well, might I disagree, slightly.... for the price it looks straight enough and the interior is clean, he claims no rust..that's half the battle for 510s. body parts are hard to find and body work is expensive. If his list of mods is correct as stated..I'd say it's about right on in price. throw on some non flared font fenders and paint (primer gray even)...DONE

Not liking the wheels...

not 800$ more like $1500

I have seen worse go for more..

If you part it out your still not going to get much for the motor. some folks are into NON L-series swaps...for some reason. For me half the fun of a Datsun is the easy l motors. I like em perky!

Although you will get more selling the parts than the whole car....the same goes for any car

keep it and park you're wifes car on the street and pull the dime in the garage with a car cover, 18 years later when you have the cash and time there you go. clean and rust free...and a lot rarer!

Actually, click on the link in my first post, it takes you to the site where they are hosted at.  There are pics of my other cars there too, but you can see the 510.

BTW: everyone.  I did some bodywork on it sunday and the car is now primered black, instead of the multicolored brown primer.  I fixed a couple dents too.  I will take more recent pics as soon as it quits raining.

Sweet!  I'm glad you were able to find a guy to buy it!

Cars like that are hard to sell but if you find the right person they will really want it.

Do you want to buy a supra just like the one in your signature now?

(Same color too)

Maybe.  Turbo or non-turbo, how many miles, 5 speed or auto?.

I used to have one just like it but it got stolen.  Also, is it a 86.5-88 or a 89-92?  The taillights and front bumpers are a little different.

Let me know, I might check it out.

Also, could you send some pics to hickerd@firemtn.com

If I like it, I may sell my neon too, that way I only have 2 cars, the supra and my wifes car.

Thanks
