Without major mods, you can tuck a 7 inch width rim with tire. The trick is finding the 18x7 wheel and one that has the precise offset to fit. I think the stock Suburban offset from the late 90's will work.

If you flare out the slight inner flares of the 620 fenders, you can probably fit 8 inch width but that'll be pushing it. My 15x7 doesnt' have much clearance in back between the fender and the frame rail.

Where did it say that? I know the wheelwells have to be cut out. I'll be doing that when I get my new wheels. I'm only gonna run 17"s though. I dont have any pics with one on 18"s but...

That just looks like way too much wheel to me, all out of proportion. Looks like a Matchbox car.

I like the stock size 14" (though I prefer a spoked or slot wheel, not dog-dish hubcaps) and 15" don't look bad either. Of course I don't subscribe to the notion that lowered is better, as I actually use the truck as a hauling device. No fan of lowered anything, I cried when a buddy of mine dropped his immaculate '65 Impala SS. Was relieved when I learned he saved all the parts to put it back (which he did when he found out that it lost $1000 in value for every inch he lowered it). But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Lifting, now, that I can go for. If it could be done easier I'd have most of mine up in the air, but the under-axle springs and the limited torsion bar lift means more work than I have time for. Heck, at one time I had 3" of spring spacers in the back of my 510 Hatchback, for that raked look... But there was that little bit of redneck showing.

Ya, but some of us kids like Matchbox cars!  I would go for 17" wheels, but 15s are more in my price range. Basically the same price for wheel and tires as 14 inch.

thanks for the replies and pics.im thinking about going with stock wheels and hub caps with 4in white walls. would be cheap - and cool. anyone know where to get some stock hub caps for 72 521? will 620 hub caps work? thanks again!

p.s.

have you ever noticed how cool datsun people are. most all are willing to share info even if it took them years to figure out. i work at advance auto and when ever a datsun guy comes in, it always makes my day.
